ABOMA negotiates and manages collective agreements (CBA) on behalf of ABOMA members. The unions with which we negotiate are Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 1 and Teamsters Union Local 727. On July 28, 2020, SEIU Local 1000 filed a health and safety complaint on behalf of all CDCR/CCHCS members, as the department violated our contract. On Thursday, July 9, 2020, we met with management about the communication to transfer the attention of Health Facility Evaluator Nurse (HFEN) staff to infection prevention training in skilled care facilities. Our Union has received two notifications from management regarding changes to HFEN working conditions and we will meet with management on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. .m. Below, you will find more information on the notices: On 25 August 2020, our Union was informed by members that an email from Heidi Steinecker was sent to collaborators who order HFENs to sign a new declaration of service. Our Union immediately turned to the working relations of the CDPH and informed them that we were still in consultation and that our Union had not accepted a mandatory declaration. We also requested that the customs declaration be withdrawn immediately.

On July 28, 2020, our Union filed a national complaint against the CDCR and THE CCHCS. On August 10, 2020, the CDCR and CCHCS provided a timely joint response to our mismanagement. On September 18, 2020, our Union met with the telephone management. Christina Montserrat and Susan Espinoza participated in CDPH (California Department of Public Health) and Andres Villarto, Kim Cowart and Mo Kashmiri on behalf of our Union. On August 4, 2020, our Union met with representatives of the CDPH on outstanding notices. CDPH has responded to many of our outstanding questions and, based on our previous complaints, 1) Two recent new communications, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has forwarded to our Union two new communications regarding changes in working conditions: With Teamsters Local 727, ABOMA 1 CBA negotiates and manages for garage employees by each construction member (the employer) in high-rise buildings. ABOMA welcomes and welcomes THE proposals of MEPs on issues they wish to see discussed by the negotiating committee. Members can e-mail the Committee on their proposals: or CDCR CCHCS violated our contract by requiring employees to work where there is an immediate and identifiable threat to their health and safety. The department continues to expose our members to a precarious work environment that leads to COVID 19 epidemics, by continuing to authorize the movement of inmates and by not fully implementing all health and safety guidelines.
